The place i work is 30% underemployed. Is this legal?

We really need more staff because it is so hard in the kitchen to have so little staff and try to do so much work. They are not hiring, most likely because they want to make a lot of profit. I know they re not hiring because many of my friends applied and they are very good candidates but havent recieved a call for a month even tho they have been trying to contact my workplace to see if they read their resumes.
so, is this relaly legal to have such small employee staff to get more money even tho its making us work soo hard?

There are no laws against how many employees you have or do not have. The only laws are for hours worked and pay to match the overtime hours. If you are a minor there are hour restrictions but businesses can hire as many employees as they want. If this place is overworking you or taking advantage of you then find another job. But realize that jobs are hard to come by these days and nothing guarantees that your next situation will be any different. |

But is all the work getting done.? why hire more people if what they have is getting things done. ? that is why they are there, to make a profit, that is not a bad thing on their part. |
