I do temporary work and do about 30 hours a week, I have been working with the temp agency for 4 months, am I entitled to holiday pay even though it's temp work?

Yes you are, as per the current Working Time Regulations which state that casual workers and agency workers accrue holiday entitlement in the same way that other employed workers do. But bear in mind that any holidays accrued are based on length of service, continuous service and hours worked - so you may not get a full entitlement and it will be pro-rata if you work less than average full-time working hours. Each time you finish with an employer you should get payment for any unused holiday entitlement in your final wage packet. If this isn't happening then you need to give ACAS a ring and discuss it with them - they will explain all your statutory rights.

Many years ago temporary staff did not get a holiday entitlement. This is not the case now, as regulations changed around 10 years ago.

It may depend what state you live in. Each state have their own labor laws, but I believe you should get holiday pay, which is time and a half of your hourly rate.

Didn't you check your contract before you signed up with the agency? Some agencies give holidays, some don't.

In the UK there is actually no legal requirement for any company to offer paid holidays at all. It is simply a custom that has developed over decades
