My sister has worked at a film rental company for ten years-after being treated so badly?

Over the 10 years she has worked there (as are all their employees) She has now found a new job as a community based carer. She is serving the necessary 4 wk notice. Her Manager tho, has told her that the Area Manager is coming to their store to make an Inventory of stock and to go through my sister's payroll WHEN my sister is NOT there i.e. her day off, this has upset and angered my sister and all of us feel this is absolutely disgusting treatment. My sister has been a really loyal, hardworking employee who has rarely taken time off for sickness or anything else-she has gone in-to cover staff sickness-at a moments notice and for which she is not paid but given hours back at the company's discretion, but has many hours outstanding and has not bothered and will not claim these. She really is the most honest person you could meet and worked so hard for this company. I know what I feel like doing...but need some advice that is not illegal and could help my sister who is so distressed by this treatment that she was in tears when she spoke about it-she is not the type to confront her "superiors" and though friendly, happy and outgoing with her customers and workmates(and very popular) she is not confident in dealing with issues of employment and her employers treatment of staff. Please can anyone offer advice?

Thanks,

lucy

Here is my outlook on this, if in the 10 years they "suddenly" are "alleging" stealing and time she was not there would be suspect. They maybe unhappy she is leaving and making her life miserable. So if in 10 years there have been no other problems and let's say her employer "alleges" this to the new employer, that will be her defense, that after giving her notice for her last 4 weeks, this all became a problem.

Have you sister relax, drink some tea and each day that she works to her conclusion state, 19 more days, 18 more days etc.

good luck

So what? She's leaving. So they are doing inventory when she isn't there? She needs a thicker skin.
