Legal jobs for college students.?

I just graduated from high school less than a month ago. I am beginning college in the fall. i already have my mind made up on what i would like to do. which is, after graduating from college, going to law school. I am beginning to look for a job to begin this summer and keep me employed during the next four years that i am in school. I am convinced that working aound law for any amount of time would be quite beneficial in teaching me some of the ins and outs, which someone directed into that field wuold like to know. Something of an aprienticeship. But i considered that being i only have a high school diploma at the moment and nothing more i believe that i may be very limited on what i can do. so in essence i have no idea where to begin looking. thus, i would like suggestions, if any of where to begin. they will be greatly appreciated.

You will not be able to do anything directly related to law until you are actually in law school. You may be able to do things tangentially related to law once you take part in your college's internship program or something like that.

For the moment you essentially have two choices - work for/volunteer with a nonprofit that does legal work and get as much experience as you can, or convince one of your parents' friends who is an attorney to take you on as an intern for the summer. Both will probably involve a lot of filing but you would be around the legal terminology and such all day.

FWIW, I do agree that some experience in a legal environment will be extremely helpful about deciding whether or not law is the career for you. When you get to college look into some legal internships. For now you're probably better off with a summer job/volunteer position that you enjoy and where you might learn something.

The jobs you are looking for are usually reserved for students in law school and in some cases the last year or so of undergrad.
