Is my boss doing something illegal?

So today my boss gave out a roster to everyone who works with me. It consists of every employees: Employee number, Cell number and or house phone number if it exist and our birth dates... I feel like my privacy has been completely invaded. I am soo mad! My boss does the scheduling so it doesn't consist of scheduling pursues. How would you feel about this. I'm mad cuz she put both my house and cell phone number! She never gave us a consent form either saying its okay if she does this.

Naa it's just like a school. They keep your information to contact and the birth date thing is just something that you have to see how old you are. |

Pretty sure that's against Data Protection Act - you did not give your consent, and your cell/home phone is not a work phone (I'm assuming). Why is this list required? Why are your personal phone numbers needed to be know by everyone else? If you have an out-of-hours contact roster, then they should be giving you a work mobile. And why on EARTH would everyone need to know each others birthdays as a business requirement? Talk to your personnel department, this is unacceptable. |
