I started working as a waitress at a job worked there one night, got three complaintants that weren't true at all, i only waited on two tables cuz it was a mock training session, for the boss's friends and family while the second table i waited on was a mom of a girl that don't like me, and she told the boss i was rude nasty and had a bad attitude and if i continued to work there she wouldn't come there, i tried to tell the boss that that was wrong cuz i wasn't rude or anything, but she said she believes her friend over me and said that business is more important than having me. is it legal for her to fire me over hear say??

I think as it was for one night only and was a training session if they feel you couldn't do the work they are within their rights to get rid of you. Most companies have a probabtion period of 3 - 6 months where they can get rid if it doesn't work out. |

Most states have "At Will" laws, meaning that you can be fired with or without cause at any time. The only exceptions are where there is discrimination or a dismissal that otherwise interferes with a law. |

If you are in Europe you can take them to an industrial tribunal if they did not give you a written warning first, so that way you can get compensation. |
