Is it legal for my employer to take two dollars off my hourly pay ?

They basically handed me my check and said from now on your getting payed two dollars less, if you dont like it then find another job. Sometimes I'm required to travel and they do not pay me perdiem they just ask me to stay at some hotel with like another 5 workers that were already there.

They can reduce your pay to minimum wage that is the only law that protects you, anything above that is between you and the employer, they must give you notice of a reduction and the reduction can not be retroactive for time already worked |

Well I don't have all the info on this case, but Texas does have a payday law. If they want to lower your wage right now there's not much you can do, but if you worked for your prior wage, say it was 400/wk and then they gave you a $360 check for that week, and told you about the wage change after, they're breaking the law. Call the Texas Workforce Commission Toll free at 1-800-832-9243 if you think you haven't been paid all wages earned, and they'll help you. BTW, sounds like a terrible situation, I wish the job market were better so you could get a new one. Your employer SUCKS, i'd never treat people like that. |
