Lying is not illegal, but if they check that reference(s) and find out she's lying, she definitely won't get hired or could get fired if already started working and she wouldn't be able to do anything about it

also, a person stating that have X amount of experience,better to be able to back it up by their job knowledge and performance - if someone only has 1 yr experience doing something and claims 8 yrs, it should be pretty obvious pretty quickly that they are lying, unless it is a super easy job to learn - also all their reported work experience/education better make sense compared to how old they are - if someone is 23 and claims to have worked full time in a field for 8 yrs that requires a college degree, or even just a high school diploma, then that would mean she graduated from college/HS at age 15 - pretty easy to figure out/check out if they are lying - all the employer would have to do is as for a transcript or just contact info for the schools they attended to verify if and when the person attended/graduated

I seriously doubt that person is going to be able to get away with a lie that for very long - she will slip up somewhere - they might innocently ask her what she was doing a certain yr and if she's not quick enough on her feet, may mix up dates, etc and get caught - the job reference part will be the easiest way to expose her - if she is applying for a job needing 8 yrs experience, you can guarantee they will check and make sure she HAS 8 yrs experience

If company has any kind of honesty clause in their handbook - it could still wind up costing her the job even a year or more after she is hired if the company is not smart enough to check out everything up front

Its called fraud and if she gets found out she will get fired

i work at a corner drug store and we got this girl shift manager in once, and we found out later, "her former boss came in" that she used to a be a stripper...the manager fired her not because she was a stripper but because "she didn't put that job on her application".....i didn't think it was that big a deal she was a hard worker and got the job done

It's not illegal. But if they find out, then she'll be fired. And if her ability to do the job is low, then she'll likely be fired.

Generally lying on a resume is NOT illegal.......... in some very rare instances this could be seen as fraud, depending on the job, and the substance of the "lie"......

as a matter of policy many employers will terminate an employee who lies on a resume or application.... again the substance and circumstances of the lie carry a lot of weight in the decision to terminate.

If she lies on any portion of her application or misrepresented herself in any way, it is grounds for immediate termination.

Nah..its definitely not illegal..even if u get the job through stating the fake job experience..the real thing that counts is one is able to keep up to the work assigned to them..

2 important aspects you have not mentioned. One whether it is for a private job or Govt Job and No 2 is that whether you have obtained the experience certificate from Govt or private.

If it is for private organisation, then it may not cause any harm. But you have to justify.

I think just showing the experience is not illegal. but if u are creating fake experience certificates to proof it, then it is definitely illegal. Depends on the policies of particular firm u r going to join/ who will verify ur certificates. if they found it incorrect they will simply fire you.
