I work at a retail store, I believe tomorrow they may be terminating me for breaking one of their policy on my own time( OVER A FACEBOOK POST??!!! ) I'm 19, still live with my parents, so unemployment doesn't concern me, I know being fired will look bad on for me in the future when I'm finding new jobs, so should I quit before my manager has that chance to rid of me? AND also, if I am to quit, HOW should I quit tomorrow? just bluntly let them know that I found betetr things or ....?

Write and hand over a formal letter of resignation - make sure you keep a copy. Preferably give it to HR, not your boss - that is if there is an HR department. Also if there is a HQ fax it there as well.

You know, ive "almost" got fired so many times..

alot of the times they'll just write you off or set you with a warning..

i wouldnt quit, it might NOT be the end!

if it is, oh well you got fired over a facebook post..

on to the next one!

Let them fire you and I know you said it didn't matter, but collect unemployment for the next 24-36 weeks.

You can quit but the company can still carry out disciplinary on you and could reveal this to any prospective future employer as it is truthful. You can say you quit but a reference may state you were subject to disciplinary.

If this is the first time they have an issue with you, you can only be fired if it is gross misconduct otherwise you may just get away with a warning.

Just explain that you feel you need to move on and leave but they may expect you work your notice or threaten to sue you for breach of contract if you have one (many don't bother), it's just an employers tactic.

This is a UK answer so if you are in the US, you laws are profoundly different in this situation.
