How/where/when to intern at a law firm?

Its my second year in college, with a major philosophy and minor in paralegal studies. i would like to start on my internships soon, for the letters or recommendation by the time i start applying for law schools, i would also like to start getting a little more information on my career
there are many law firms where i live, but how do i know which one is the right one, i would like to work in a small law firm were i can know the attorneys and others in a more personal level, (since i will be working there) rather then just working working and not knw anything other then just work

once i know where to intern, how should i approached the law firm. who would i have to talk to? who do i have to call? when is the right time to intern? do i have to have some type of experience to intern?

At the juncture you're at, it's best to approach a solo or medium sized firm. You need to see whether lawyering is right for you before you enter law school. The market for attorneys is rapidly shrinking, but the law schools don't recognize it. The last place you want to be is unemployed with an expensive degree to finance. |
