How much time can i get off?

Ive been working part time at a store for 2 years and never asked for a vacation. I recently found an opportunity to study abroad for a month and a half. how likely, possible, or even legal that i would be able to do this?

That's between you and your boss. They don't have to give you any time off, but with luck they'll go along with the time you want and keep your job for you.

Unless you earn paid time off (check your pay stub), you won't get paid while away, but you can certainly ask if they can spare you for awhile.

Hopefully they're nice, but I'm pretty sure they're not under any legal obligation to give you your job back. Since it's a long time that you're asking to be away in one stretch, they may need to hire someone new.

Does your company even HAVE a vacation policy?

part-timers usually do NOT get vacation benefits

if you want to take time off and it is approved, you probably will NOT get paid while you are out

talk to your company - for that long a period of time - you would have to request a "Leave of Absense" and they could say no - so you would have to quit
