I was wondering if it is illegal for a business, in the state of Oregon, to not have any handicap parking, and or, a wheel chair ramp? Would this be a matter of suing a business owner for discrimination against handicap people, or would it be a matter of they are breaking some kind of law that I could tell someone about.

It could be a violation of the ADA, but the ADA is way, way more complicated than it's portrayed in the media. For example, I worked in a historical village for a few years and we were completely exempt from certain ADA provisions because the buildings were historical. Read the provisions of the ADA (and any and all other applicable statutes) very carefully. If you still think the business is in violation of the ADA you can report them to the DOJ, but be aware that the DOJ doesn't even look into every case because they just don't have the manpower. You could also sue yourself but you'd have to find an attorney to take your case. |

If they have done major remodeling since the ADA was in effect, they are likely required to make their building accessible. If they haven't remodeled, it isn't required. |

It depends on how old the building it.. some building are exempt from having to do certain things and still be with in the legal limits of the ADA... |
