Fired from job: Legal advice please?

Just found out this morning that grandson was fired from his one year job in New York with Sam's Club.
He was asked to sign a paper when terminated which he did NOT fully read.
Only after getting home did he realize that he had signed away his right to collect unemployment.
I have not personally spoken with him yet but I want to help him out.
Is there any organization in New York where he can get legal advice?
Thanks for any advice/help/suggestions.

That paper must have said that he was quiting. Pretty stupid move to sign something without reading it but he can try to get the UI office to believe that he was in fact terminated and didn't quit. |
