Does UPS hire convicted felons?

Category: Law & Legal

I am a convicted felon. my last conviction was 5 yrs. ago and was a direct result of a drug problem I used to wrestle with. I have been on the straight and narrow since that time. However, not too surprisingly, I am having trouble finding gainful employment beyond day labor or basic construction. I see that UPS is hiring driver's helpers and wondering whether or not it's worth my time to even apply?

What will it hurt to try?

Unless you try, you will never know..... Take ownership of your past, show through words and actions that you are a new person and worth the investment (and yes the RISK)....

@ Freefrom... do you ever write your own answers or do you just cut and paste every answer?

A Career Instructor should have some good insight from her/his own experiences and should be able to do more than just cut and paste from other websites....

You could be a valuable tool (assuming you are not lying about who you are and what you do).....

I read online that UPS was friendly towards felons. When hired I was told that the company under no circumstances hires felons. I also understood that I was bonded upon becoming a driver rather than when hired pt inside. Job UPS Delivery Driver UPS has been known to hire felons. They have moderate incomes and is a stable job to have.

Companies such as UPS, one of the most recognizable companies in the world, has been known to hire ex-felons. So has the U.S. Army. Home Depot is another large company that has been known to hire felons, providing a great opportunity to change their life's direction. It will still be a hurdle to land one of these positions, but being open and honest about circumstances is the best way to a good outcome.

Never underestimate a prospect's potential to give a good applicant a chance. An applicant should focus on selling her strong points without trying to hide from the felony conviction when interviewing with a potential employer. A good attitude and a contrite spirit will go a long way in an interview
