Can your employer legally do this?

In New York state can an employer hold time missed by an employee against them if they have a note from their your personal doctor or an emergency room doctor to take time off from work due to illness(flue,pneumonia,other serious illnesses)especially if it is in the company guidelines to get a note from a doctor if you miss more then 2 days in a row from work.

Yes they legally can, sorry, not the answer you wanted I know. A note from the doc means nothing, even though they require it. |

It depends on what you mean my hold it 'against them'. If they are bitter, resentful and bring it up all the time then there is no law being broken but if they are taking action like cutting back you hours or cutting back on your benefits then you may have a case. |
