Can I quit my job after having a comp case?

I got a neck injury while I was at work one day... The doctors filed it as a comp case but I no longer want to continue the job. Can I quit and it still be covered? Or will the bills be sent to me instead?

Did you report the injury at work?

has the WC insurance been paying so far?

if the case is already open you can quit the job, the medical bills will be paid.....

the question of temporary total disability (TTD) payments is another set of issues:

if you are NOT receiving payments for TTD then quitting the job to start another one will have no affect.....

however if you quit you will NOT be entitled to TTD payments (if you are currently receiving them) just as soon as the doctor releases you to full or light duty.... even if you don't have another job....

the only way to receive TTD is to be off work either totally or on light duty with the employer you were employed with at the time of your injury.

and do you have another job already lined up?

IF you answer YES to both questions then go ahead and quit, your medical bills will continue to be paid as long as you follow the doctors & case workers instructions, and you do NOT miss any appointments....

Doctor didn't file this as a work comp case. You should speak to an attorney about your legal rights.
