Which of these jobs is less stressful? I think home health aide has more opportunities. I don't mind bathing & toilet the elderly. It's stubborn elderly with attitudes & how they treat you that worries me. Anyone have experiences?

I'd pick home health aid because it has the potential for growth. You can slowly advance to CNA then to LVN/LPN then to RN.

Waitress is less stressful if you work in a decent restaurant, but if you work in some el cheapo family restaurant where you have to scrabble through the ketchup soaked leftover fries on the table to get your dollar tip and bus your own tables, it's frustrating at best. It's also frustrating even in a good restaurant when the weather is bad or there's just not enough customers to bring in decent tips. But I worked part-time at Kelly's Steak House in SC at the same time as I worked as a teacher, and I made more money at that job than I did as a teacher, and Kelly was a great guy and would give us supper, and the food was wonderful. That was not stressful, it was great, so if you can find the right restaurant, you may want to stay forever.

I was a home health aide *** maid *** personal assistant for a quadraplegic. He bathed himself and he worked outside the home, but I had to clean the house, prepare his breakfast, lunch, and dinner, lay out his clothes, do the laundry, do the grocery shopping, and do anything else he wanted me to do, like rake the leaves, wash the sliding glass doors, and water the flowers. He was okay to work for, but there was a lot of work to get done in a small amount of time, and due to his pain and frustration, he was always on the edge of crabby, which I found stressful. I was one of the few people he hired who wasn't young and cute. He was 42 and he had this deluded idea that one of these 22-year-old cuties would fall in love with him and marry him, whereupon she would do all this stuff for him free of charge. And he had strict rules of personal behavior, but I can imagine that someone else would act quite a bit differently toward a young female who takes care of him. I'd have to be pretty desperate to take that kind of a job again.

I've never been a maid, but I see it as not very stressful, but physically hard. I hate to clean house, though, really. It wears me out and is so boring, but some people seem to love it. I just don't get it.

I have never been solely a health worker aide but I have been a waitress and I am currently , and have been for about nine years, a maid. As another answerer said it depends on the restaurant. I had to waitress, clean tables and work in the kitchen cleaning up so it was go , go , go.

I have worked as a maid in private and non private (hotel) situations. Here again it depends on the employer/situation. At one live in situation I had, not only did work for the family 5 days a week, I also had to go and maid for Mrs. B.'s mother one day a week. It is not a stressful job but long hours and hard work and mostly just boring cleaning. And you are everyones "goffer".

One compensation is, you get to wear a nice uniform. NOT!!

To answer your question I think a health aide would have more chances for advancement, maybe into nursing or something. More power to you, you picked three of the hardest jobs, jobs which most girls couldn't or wouldn't want to do.
