I am in school to become an RN but after i graduate i would like to do an internship to become a Pediatric Nurse so i would like to know which one of the above places would pay me more, give me more hours, which would offer better benefits such as more sick leave & paid vacation time, and also which one would offer a more flexible schedule.

thank you.

I've been in the medical field over 20 years. I teach medical assistants.

In general the larger the facility the better the medical, dental and vision coverage, the more vacation and sick leave and more opportunities for tuition reimbursement to go back and specialize.

So generally hospitals pay the most, followed by clinics and then private practice. Remember when a doctor in private practice gives you a raise it is money out of their own pockets, unlike a hospital where the doctor is just another employee.

Not sure what you mean by flexible schedule. Private offices tend to be more 9 to 5 Monday through Friday, although many offer a late evening or two a week. Clinic hours can vary a bit. Hospitals are generally 24 hours, although some of the departments are only open during the day.

I would say hospital, clinic, and private practice. Their business are also in that order. However, this order may change if the hospital is a major one in a big city, if the clinic is like, the main one in the area, or if the private practice is very successful. If you are just starting off, obtaining a job at a hospital would be more stable. You can start off there if you make it there. When given the chance, definetely hospital.
