What health care jobs are there that involve infants or children?

I am thinking about being an Obstetrician or a Pediatrician. I want to know what other jobs there are that are around this area. I just want to have like a back-up plan in case i can't be a doctor.

What majors would be helpful?

I know it's a lot of questions but I am lost with all of this and school counselors don't really help. I just need a little guide.

You can go into

Pediatric nurse or doctor

You can work in the pregnancy wing of the hospital (sorry I forget what its called)

You can work in a day care (doesn't pay well though and its on the lower end of the spectrum of medical career)

You can be a prenatal surgeon! =D

You can work in a urgent care (kids get hurt or sick all the time)

I know what you mean about school counselors, they can just confuse things even further. Some fields you can look to as a backup is Occupational Therapist, Registered Nurse, Speech Language Pathologist, Physical Therapist, Social Worker, or a Respiratory Therapist. These careers are fairly good paying depending on the area you work in.
