And you cant even get hired on?

i dont know if this even happens lol but it came to mind.

if you signed a contract promising to work for a hospital for a certain amount of years as a nurse or doctor, and they paid for all of your schooling upfront in return... what happens if you cant get a job there because there are no open positions for doctor or nurse?

I don't know of too many hospitals that pay up front for a nurse's education. Some will pay for furthering your education after you're already working for them. If you sign a contract, it depends on what the contract states. But they wouldn't make you sign a contract making you work for them if they don't have a job available to you! If you did receive money from them and they had no job available, I would presume that you would have to pay that money back. My hospital has paid tuition for employees to further their education and the agreement is you have to work for them for 1 year or else you pay them back (pro-rated depending on how long you actually did work after graduation).

Usually they would have you sign that contract if they dont have openings but in case they do it must say in the contract contingent upon available positions or you may wanna check and see if you are required to pay it back out of pocket due to no positions available!

Either way if you signed a contract you need to read that contract, we can say anything but what you signed is the way it is or so check it dont consult us cos we dont know
