What are some promising healthcare careers, besides nursing?

I was looking into nutrition because they offer the program at the university I'm attending. But they don't offer nursing program, only pre-nursing. Just wondering if nutrition is highly demanded in today's economy/times.

Pharmacy technicians will be in demand for quite some time. Although in most states you don't need a college degree to be a pharm tech, it's a good 2nd job or part-time gig while you're in college :] |

Hey, you're on the right path. Health-care is a great field. In my opinion, if you like helping older people and you like nutritional study, then Gerontology might be a good choice. There will be plenty of need for Gerontologists in the next 20 years. If you like helping people and are "social", it's probably quite rewarding. |

I would study something that will definitely get you registered as a dietician, otherwise you can't practice properly with just "nutrition". Your role would then be to assess people and advise the nurses which liquid feeds to use for tube feeding for a particular individual. You also go to see diabetics and try to encourage them to eat better for their condition. |
