I'm looking into U.S. Career Institute for massage therapy.

Nevada law says I can't do it at 17 (thats why im trying to do it online)

Is it a scam? Is it accredited, any comments?

Thank you!

Hello Plybo99

Thank you for inquiring about U.S. Career Institutes Massage Therapy program. U.S. Career Institute is pleased to be accredited by the Distance Education & Training Council (DETC), which is listed by the U.S. Department of Education as a nationally recognized accrediting agency. Accreditation is a strong indicator of a school's academic strength and ethical business practices.

In order to become a licensed massage therapist, you will need to meet the appropriate state and local requirements for where you live. As far as the state level is concerned, Nevada's occupational requirements are outlined in NRS 640C.400 http://www.leg.state.nv.us/NRS/NRS-640C.html#NRS640CSec050. While Nevada has a minimum age requirement of 18, you can take USCI's course now in preparation for licensing, provided you meet USCI's entrance requirements (a couple requirements include possession of a GED or high school diploma and minimum age of 16.) Nevada accepts USCU's 600-clock hour course toward training requirements outlines in their regulations.

If you have questions about the Massage Therapy Program, or any of the programs, free free to contact Admissions at 1-800-528-7907. Thanks and best wishes as you pursue your massage therapist career!
