New nursing grad with 2 jobs?

Category: Health Care

KiplingKipling

I have recently graduated, and I am now a nurse. I got offered jobs with the 2 places I did my pre-grad placements with, and I accepted, as they are both part-time, and I need money pretty badly.

The problem is, neither one of my bosses is willing to work around the other place's schedule. One of my bosses hinted to me that she has a permanent full-time position available, and I'm thinking of taking it, as I would also have benefits. I would feel bad quitting the other job though, as I have just started my training and I hate disappointing people.

My husband says to just do what's right for me and to stop worrying about other people's feelings. I just wish I knew what to do!

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Thank you.

If the second job stated that they would not work around your schedule, then you have no choice but to quit. Let them know that they will either have to be flexible with your schedule, or you will have to turn in your resignation. No guilt - it is their choice.

Accept the full time position with benefits and ask to be on the PRN pool at the other job.

Woo!hoo! most people can't find one job. this will be a great way to pay off your student loans & begin to build a nest egg. don't do it forever & find lotsa time to decompress.
