NURSES how do you handle the gross stuff and people dieing?

I want to become a nurse but I don't know if I could handle the gross stuff like people after car accidents and etc.... and I don't know if I could handle someone dieing under my care.... so how do you deal with it? does it get easier with time? do hospitals wait a while and than ease you into the gross and hard to handle things? what tasks are most common that you do in a run of a day? Thanks!

The thought of a person "DYING" (you will need to know how to spell this word), is not gross, its a tragedy in an accidental way. Otherwise in a natural cause or diseased way, I think you will go through this in the program and they will help you how to understand and deal with this. |
