Major that will stand out when applying for PA school?

Right now I'm planning on majoring in Biology but getting in a PA program is very competitive and I want to stand out when I apply. And yes I will take the prerequisites.

I'm not exactly sure how PA school works, but my impression is that it is very similar to medical school in that any major is accepted as long as the pre-reqs are complete. Non-science majors tend to stand out in med school applications. I graduated medical school with a girl with an art history degree, and a guy with a Spanish degree. Neither of them had the greatest grades in undergrad, but their applications stood out because of their "weird" majors that they wanted to go to medical school with. Pick something you are truly passionate about and love to learn, as your college days will be much easier if you enjoy the bulk of what you learn. |
