On my resume as my objective I have written that I am searching for a summer internship that would be advantageous in aspiring to become a cosmetic medical proffessional. However, I was unable to find any jobs this summer with a plastic surgeon or medspa so I found an OBGYN who needed a medical receptionist and a physical therapist. I sent my resumes to their office with that objective. Will it reflect poorly on me?

It could. What I would recommend is that you change your objective to match the job you are applying for as it looks much more professional.

This is easy to do. Simply open a new document and copy your current resume. Make the necessary changes and then click on SAVE AS and give it a new title. In this case it could be obgynresume. I do the same thing with cover letters. It saves a lot of time.

They will either be confused as to why you are interested in them, or will want to know why you have chosen to seek work outside of your objective. Either way, it's an uphill battle if they call to interview you as they will want to know what your commitment level is to the job they have, and will probably grill you to ensure that you are not going to leave once something better comes up.
