Is it too late to become an RN?

Someone told me that they usually accept incoming juniors in college, so after completing 2 years at a college (university), then you would apply to a nursing program for the other 2 years (so a total of 4).

It's too late for that, so could I still apply after 4 years at a college, and NOT specializing in nursing (no nursing major or minor).

Will my chances be less?

A lot of schools have nursing programs for students who already have a bachelors degree. Lucky for you, they're shorter than typical nursing programs!

With a biology major, you've most likely taken all the classes needed. These are typical classes nursing programs require:

A+P 1 and 2

chem

microbio

English/college writing 1 and 2

psychology

sociology

college algebra

statistics

As said above, you need to find out exactly what the nursing program you're interested in requires. For a regular program, you probably have an advantage having completed more classes.

Whoever told you that was only trying to boost their own plan and self-esteem.....it's competitive to get into nursing programs these days! You need to speak to an advisor in the nursing program at the college you plan on attending and see what they recommend...they are the experts....not the "someone" that told you things! Best wishes!!
