Is 108,500 pesos placement fee for a filipino nurse going to singapore correct?

I hope I am not being scammed. I just wanted to know more. Maybe the amount is legitimate. But I hope you understand how I feel that it is still considerably a big amount of money.

Yes you are paying someone to do the hard work for you. There are filipino nurses that come here and just find a job. Some apply for the pre-acceptance visa. They have very much sucess because employers are interested in those who can solve problems and do for them selves. The can't do lot pay agents and have a one in two chance for success.

Hint: Yahoo Answers is not an indication of problem solving skills

That's certainly a lot. I don' think there are any rules 'governing' these so called agencies. So it't based on supply & demand rather than legitimacy. If you are confidant on your skills and have good experience, you can approach the hospitals/group directly. But note the cost of living in Singapore is extremely high and think twice before committing yourself.
