Usually the best way to go is to obtain UCAS points and go to university however that isn't the only way.

It is always beneficial to get a part time job in a hospital for example, heath care assistant where you do not need any qualifications.

While in a job like this the hospital will pay to train you so you can obtain an NVQ.

Quite a few places(universities) will accept NVQ Level 3 instead of UCAS points(a-levels). If you do your NVQ Level 3 "on the job" so to say, then you will be paid for your work and get the qualification at the same time.

You can join a hospitals staff list once you turn 18.

Any work experience will go in your favour.

At university you will obtain a nursing Degree.

Good luck :) x

If you're still in high school, take:

AP statistics, AP English, AP psychology, and AP chemistry. Those are the core AP classes that will help you in nursing school. Any other AP exams will help you as well big time, but only for general college courses. The courses I listed equate to nursing prerequisites.

Anatomy, nutrition, chemistry, microbiology, physiology, sociology, and many more are all classes that you need to take in order to get into nursing school. Go for your bachelor's degree as an RN student since you're still young.
