Nurses are superb, so many of them sacrifice so much, solely so that they can look after for others. In the box below is a site I stumbled upon with lots of info about nursing - and lots of other careers too.

I'm sorry, but regardless of what you have heard, you would not be able to come right over and land a job as a nurse. Generally, you would need to go back to college (here in the USA) and fulfill the requirements/standards. This usually takes around 2 years.

But before hand, you will need to make sure that you are a U.S. citizen. Then you can apply to sit for the state boards.

No, you don't have to take the Phils Nursing boards, but you need the clinical experience (which is required by most employers here in the U.S.) so you will have to take the PI Nursing Boards in order to practice nursing there in PI.

You don't need to be a U.S. Citizen to take the NCLEX. Take the NCLEX whether in Phils or U.S. After passing you can apply for a job. Heck! if a Filipino citizen can find work through agency how much more you, when you already have your immigrant status. Due to recession, jobs are tougher to get, but you will eventually get one. Just be patient and be resourceful. Good luck!
