How much does an average CNA (certified nurses assistant) get paid?

When I turn 18 I want to take a CNA course to get my CNA license. I figure that it will be a useful thing to have while going to college because I know that there are a LOT of job openings in that field. I was just wondering what the typical pay is for a CNA?

In CA it is minimum wage or just above. Lots of jobs for sure but it is hard and unrewarding work for the pay. You'd be better off being a waiter or waitress and it would be a lot less depressing too. |

A $1 or $2 above minimum wage. It is a good place to start if you want to be a nurse (because if you can handle the dirty, back breaking work of a CNA, you can handle nursing), but not good for a permanent career |
