Do you think I should be a surgeon? Would I just end up killing my patients and getting sued?

I've done dissections before in Biology. I'm ok with a scapel, but I'm not exactly a pro. I can't cut deep enough, and I'm too gentle. But, that technique is something that can be developed and honed over time.
I'm not squeamish. The sight of blood and viscera (internal organs) doesn't repulse me. I could easily look into a human body and identify organs.
My grades are good. I have straight A's. In Biology, I finished off the school year with a 101% and I got a high A on the final exam. In my Health Science class (an elective that is part of my school's medical academy), I got a 99.6% (I even got 100% on the final exam).
But, I suck at cutting! And, that's the main part of performing a surgery!

You can do it, if you really want to. No one is a pro at cutting things before they start training as a surgeon. Sure, some medical students stand out more than others in their surgical rotation, but you truly learn the skills and techniques during residency. |
