Do doctors and workers in the healthcare industry support Obama's proposed healthcare reform? If it is passed, what will it mean for the healthcare industry?

I read today that the AMA (American Medical Association), which only represent 30% of doctors signed on to the reform bill. Not completely sure about the nurses association. I would think they would be on board though because alot of money is going towards more nurses and nursing schools. It also expands what a Registered Practicioner Nurse can do like write prescriptions. Ultimately it means a $500 billion dollar bonaza for the Healthcare Industry courtesy of the US Taxpayer. They may get 30 million new clients subsidized by taxpayer dollars. All the rest is against the insurance industry. No dropping when sick, no recidivism, no spending limit on care, no denials for necessary surgery, allows for free yearly visits for preventative care, plugs hole in prescription D medicare debacle, extends COBRA, opens exchanges between states to compete, and a lot more. That's why we have to pass this. It cost us $500 billion, but we have to do it.

I will leave you with this one stat. 10 years ago healthcare costs were roughly 8% of our overall GDP. Today they are 18.3% of our overall annual GDP. All the experts say that by the end of the next 10 years it will be over 36% of our GDP. This bill cuts $138 billion over the next 10 years and then $1.2 trillion over the following 10 years. If in 10 years we have healthcare at 36% of GDP and medicare/medicaid/social security will account for another 40%. That's 76% of GDP and we have not even started to talk about defense which is our largest expense right now. We have got to start now on reform even if this is how we start.

Means a loss of 30% of doctors. Those old enough to retire will. they already work long hours for less pay.
