Confused about what qualifications i need to become a nurse?

Hi will i be able to access to health course at college and what happends then do i go uni, what qualifacations do i need for uni, ive only got 3cs 2 in english and 1 in art. the rest are ds and under. but ive got nvq level 2 in childcare, nvq level 2 and 3 in nails will any of these of count?

The Access is your qualification to get into uni so you don't need to worry about the other qualifications. However some uni's like you to have Maths GCSE at C grade or higher as well as the Access. Most uni's will accept Numeracy Level 2 instead of the Maths GCSE, Numeracy only takes 4-8 weeks & is easily studied alongside the Access.

You don't need qualifications to get onto an Access course. The whole point of it is to get you qualified for uni. Once you apply there is usually an interview but it's nothing too drastic. It's been specifically designed for people who haven't been in education for a while or those who haven't got the GCSE's & A-levels they need for uni.

Basically you need to do the Access plus either Maths GCSE or Numeracy Level 2 to get onto a nursing course at uni.
