Ok, so right now i am working at state farm insurance as a receptionist. I am 16 years old so during the school year i wont be able to do this job because the office is only open on week days and i will have after school activities. So i am applying for a job at a cafe that i can work on the weekends, but the two jobs may have to over lap at one point during this summer... I know minors are not allowed to work full time but i was wondering if i would be able to work both jobs for maybe a month or so...?

First and foremost I am not an employment lawyer. So I do not know about employment laws (regarding minors) in your area. So I would suggest talking to a guidance counselor. They may know the law(s) better in your area. Some people work one job during the summer. Sometimes called "Seasonal" jobs and another job during the school year. One possibility would be to work the cafe job during the school year and the receptionist job during the summer. I would talk to both bosses and see if this is a possibility. I would also suggest taking time off during the summer to have some fun. |
