What jobs do you think are available for a person like me?

I'm 15....but i'm turning 16 in October. And i'm planning on looking for a part time job since i'll still be in school. I usually have all A's and B's on my report cards, i'm caring, loyal, but i'm kinda shy. Those characteristics mostly don't fit together so i'm just wondering what kind of jobs are available out there for me. I'm also going to be taking Driver's Ed. in the beginning of July so i probably won't get my license till January of 2011....but i'm still looking for job options. Also i need to figure out a "resume" , any tips on that? Like, what should it look like, they might ask for other jobs but i've never had another job before, is that a bad thing? What should i do?

At your age, it's going to be hard to find a job - most places require you be at least 16, even if the legal minimum age to work is around 14. You really don't need a resume, since you've got nothing to put on it, you should go to local stores and fast food places (really, the only places you'll even have a shot) and fill out applications. But even at your age, networking can help - do your parents know of other people who run businesses that could use your help over the summer? |
