Question reguarding unemployment and babysitting?

I'm currently receiving unemployment in the state of c.a during the past month I've been babysitting my 11 year old nephew while his mother works she receives subsidized child care through the state of ca. Which is free child care for low income families. She wants me to be paid for the time I've watched him which is fine but how do I report this to unemployment? I haven't received any monies for keeping him as of yet if I get paid it will back track to june till august will I be penalized by unemployment for not reporting all though I haven't received any monies?

You don't know whether or not you will receive any money so you can't report it to the EDD yet. Once you find out for CERTAIN that you will receive money, start reporting it immediately, as you earn it. If it is paid retroactively, just report the lump sum you receive and continue reporting future earnings as you earn them, not when they're paid. |
