Have never claimed before. Have always had a job lined up. Still looking on this relo. Just moved from NH to DC (living in VA). Can I claim? In VA, DC, or NH? Not sure. Thanks in advance!

Be sure to check www.usajobs.gov for any openings for which you might qualify, because as the spouse of an active duty military, you are eligible for a NON-COMPETITIVE career-conditional appointment, so if you meet the qualifications, you just have to ask them if they would be willing to bring you on board. A job would be better than unemployment. Considering how many federal agencies have offices in DC (and VA), what better place could there be to look for one? |

You have no connection to DC - living in Virginia, not DC. NH probably not, as you left your job voluntarily. Consider simply calling the unemployment office in your county (Arlington? Fairfax?) and asking... |
