I am currently working as a cafe worker in a cafe-restaurant in Finland and when I come to work at 10am the chef is already there. He probably arrives at 9 or earlier since we open at 9am. He and his assistant leave 17:30. This happens Monday through Friday. However, he also works on Saturdays from 12pm to 6pm as far as I know. Everyone has got 20 minutes lunch break. No other breaks unless there are very few customers. |

Chef hours are completely dependent on the type of restaurant or catering facility they work with. In other words, when a chef works in a 24 hour diner or hotel restaurant is going to be vastly different than a chef who works in a restaurant that is find dining/dinner only. There is no way to know unless you ask the specific establishment that uses a chef. |
