A culinary essentials diploma will allow you to explore the many jobs within a commercial kitchen or at the front end of a restaurant. Learning these essentials will prepare you for different career options in the culinary field.

A culinary essentials diploma will train students in the support functions of the kitchen staff. Students will work with head chefs as line cooks, apprentices, or station chefs.

Those who can easily perform most tasks in the kitchen will find it easier to find work, according to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics (www.bls.gov). This is because many restaurants serve more than one style or type of food and need those who can move from station to station and assist quickly where necessary.
