I love cooking, especially desserts, but people keep mentioning the long hours and bad pay and too much stress

i dont think its that bad honestly .. i think i can handle it

should i do it ?

I think if you're sure you can handle it, why not? If cooking is your passion.. Yes, being a chef is a difficult job, unlike what most people think. They make long hours, but that doesn't mean they don't enjoy their job.

You should do what you like!

By all means... if you are passionate about a career it won't matter that you are up all night making cakes.

I feel exactly the same

although, i really want to open an icecream shop mixed with pastry shop

you could start your own pastry shop!

start out as a pastry chef, then work till you can open it or something like that

Few people have the chance of being one and I don't think you'll regret it after. The long hours are nothing if you really like the field. And it's something that never goes old.

People who find they enjoy doing something often find that doing all day every day is a different thing and they soon get bored - especially if they are required to do the thing that they enjoy under somebody else's direction. If you are in the mood to create one thing, but your boss (head chef) needs something totally different, you have to go along with what your boss wants
