Im applying at starbucks do i need to know the recipes/shots? and any advice is good please?

Category: Food Service

Im going to apply at starbucks tomorrow. im so excited! i love the atmosphere and i NEED a job! im 21, kinda shy but not in the work atmosphere, im friendly, i smile alot!, i have good memory and i work hard.

do i need to know the recipes and how many shots go with which drink? most importantly! will they give me a book or manual or something that i can memorize?? im good at memorizing things but not if its just a show and tell, "this many shots, add this much chocolate, this much cream, this much caramel, this much ice, now blend, whip cream, chocolate drizzle. got it? now do it!" i can do it immediately after im shown but i wont remember later. especially if im shown/taught several drinks in a row. will i be able to take notes?

also, ive never used a cash register, is it hard??

They will train you to do it their way. No harm in taking notes.

The biggest thing is work hard, have a happy attitude, and be super-polite.

Can you use a broom and a mop? You start at the bottom of the ladder, not the top.

If you're just starting out, you won't be making coffee - not at first.

How good is your cafe crema? What do you know about health and safety. What about safe money-handling practices? Practical stuff - not stuff out of a book???

How are you people skills? They must be reasonably ok - that's why they want to employ you - BUT, you will still learn a lot.

I reckon you will be working hard and long-hours at this place, for at least a year, before they'll let you near making your first coffee.

You may feel you already know how to make a cuppa-cawfee, here's where you learn to do it right!
