Hello, I'm a newcomer in this job world. I haven't had a real paying job before, so I'm a little nervous.. I was recently interviewed at a Japanese restaurant that is opening soon (about a week), and the manager told me I could get a position as a hostess since I have no waitress experience. I'd already turned in an application for the job, and when I came in for the interview, he immediately gave me some paperwork to fill out.. mostly agreements and such. I was pretty nervous and sweating which might've been a turn-off? lol.. He told me he'll call me for an orientation, so I left with the happiest feeling ever, like a little kid at Disneyland lol.. I also know someone else who applied for bartending position, but he didn't seem as ecstatic as I was.. He told me that the manager "might" call him back.. so now I'm feeling nervous again.. thinking what if the manager doesn't call me back? Or maybe I heard wrong and that he "might" call me back as well? Or am I just overthinking lol..
I overheard the manager telling another person who walked in the restaurant that they only have opening positions for servers and bartenders.. I don't wanna assume anything, but would this mean I have a high chance of getting the spot as hostess? lol.. the manager told me there were a lot of other applicants as well.. and the previous girl he'd interviewed seemed pretty confident and I was just a nervous wreck.. after my interview, he double-checked my name and told me if it was correct so he could make name tags.. so now I'm just confused and have mixed feelings.. lol
