Can I apply for a McDonalds job without them finding out I failed a probationary period in a different store?
I recently failed my 3-week probationary period. I won't go into detail but I believe it was unfair, and uncalled for as everyone told me I was doing well, I think it was cos I knew the store manager and we never got on... Apparently I "didn't show a desire to work there" -- BUT I DID!!
Anyway I think I can learn from my mistakes and take what I have learned and been trained somewhere else but I don't want them to know the fact that I failed a probation.
The store I am applying for is a franchise but DOES NOT have the same owner as the one I got fired from. What do you think? Can I get a job without them finding out?

Call the labor department/ministry. It's a don't tell situation, and you should find out if an employer can obtain your records. You need to keep low on the radar and do your duties without any complaint. Your new manager will see you fit the job. Sometimes it doesn't work out at one place or another, but it is a matter of record and reporting at the government level, and who has authority to see those records. |

Have you considered a different chain of burger places? I don't know about the UK, but in the US we have, Burger King, White Castle and Wendy's for example. Don't limit yourself by way of fried burgers, look into the grilled, little and double stacked too!! |
