Calling fast food restaurants?

Category: Food Service

I"m currently searching for a job, and I don't really have any job experience so I thought fast food chains would be the easiest place to start. Instead of going to east food food restaurant, do you think its a good idea to call them to find out instead?

Calling is never as good as walking into the actual restaurant and asking if they are currently hiring and/or if you could obtain an application. If you walk in and ask to speak to the manager, then the manager can get a good idea of what you are like, if you would be a good worker, etc. Also, walking in shows that you are motivated and have initiative to get the job. These things will make them more likely to call you back.

Make sure when you walk into the restaurant to ask for the manager/person hiring. If you speak to an employee, you may not get accurate information about if they are hiring, and may also get the run around.

After dropping off your application, I would go back into the restaurant one to two weeks later and ask what the status of your application is. If you continue to check the status of your application and ask if there have been any openings, you will eventually get a call back.

Hope I helped, and best of luck!

No you must go in and let the manager get a look at you. If you present yourself as a mature responsible person you get the job and the lazy one who called does not Teenagers need to work at getting a job. You are competing with college students and out of work adults
