Applied at Hooters. Should I go in for a second follow-up visit or let it go?
I applied Monday, August 16th. Interview seemed to go well, and I was told I'd receive a call the next day to schedule a second interview, as the manager had been on vacation and didn't know the GM's schedule. There was no call, so I went in on Friday to check in and show my desire to work there. I was then told that the GM was out until Sunday and should receive a call then. It's now Thursday, and I still have not received a call. Should I call/visit again to follow-up or start applying at other places?
Was I just being brushed off nicely or was the manager sincere in his adjusting of the timeline?
I realize it's not a job for everybody, but I do want to work there. I understand the cons associated with working there and have decided that it is worth it to me.
I believe that I fit the look of the girls at the location I applied at, with matching proportions. I chatted with some regulars and girls while filling out the application, and they treated me like I'd be getting the job. I may have come across as too quiet, while trying to be polite, in the interview, but I was a lot more bubbly and playful during the follow-up visit.

Show them what you are really about. Business that is what they are running not a bubbly playful eatery. Next time go in more relaxed with the attitude that you may work for them or not. If they call fine if they don`t remember there are other places that serve food. And with your looks you may get the better place after all. |

If you want to work there stop in again, you have nothing to lose. In the mean time start looking else where. |

To work at Hooters, it's not necessarily all about looks. I've seen ugly girls, overweight girls, and flat chested girls working there before. I used to have a friend who was a manager at a Hooters and he said they hire girls based on their personality. So, you shouldn't be a quiet person. You need to have a fun, cheerful personality. Your looks is just an extra benefit but personality comes first. |
