I just turned 15 and i have the same problem :/ some restaurants will pay you under the table to work there, but that's usually if you know the owners.. the best thing i can think of is to do odd jobs for people, mow lawns, rake leaves, take in mail for people on vacation (ASK THEM FIRST), cat sit, walk dogs, babysit, clear gutters, things like that. just let people know you're willing to work. and when you get old enough to work officially (16 or 17) make sure you don't just apply to big grocery store or restaurant chains. they tend to hire people with lots of experience. make sure you talk to the manager of the tiny sushi place around the corner or the used book store down the street. the owner will usually have time to talk to you, so you can explain your situation and develop a relationship with them. good luck! |

So get a ladder and a hose and go door to door to clean gutters! That's something I used to wish would happen when I was taking care of my Mom. Many people have no way to get up there and get them cleaned out! You'd be providing a needed service and make money doing it. If your parents will allow you to, that is! I'd get a friend to help you so that way you're not alone doing it either. Good Luck! |
