I am looking to make a career change into accounting, how can I get a job within an accountancy firm without experience. I am willing to work for free to gain experience. Any suggestions would be of great help.
I'm 25 in July and have only worked in contact centres in 3 major high street banks. Currently unemployed.

If you can afford it enrol for a degree course in accountancy. At your age you may be accepted as a mature student which means they will take into account your life experience in the event of lack of A levels. I started such a degree at 50. As things worked out I did not complete the degree because a summer job the uni found for me turned into a very satisfactory career as a book-keeper. But if I had been your age I would have jumped at the chance of completing the degree. Best of luck. |
