Job in accountancy with a political science degree?

I am in my last year of college, and will have fulfilled all my requirements for a BA in political science by the end of spring quarter. all my efforts to find a job just seem to be a big waste of time, so i am considering picking up a minor in accounting and stay that extra year in college. my GPA currently stands at 3.3 and will be graduating from one of the top 10 public universities in the nation. i know my GPA will drop considerably by taking on the minor. im expecting a 3.0 or 2.9 by the time the minor is completed. so my question is, would it be feasible to find a 52k+ base pay job with a CPA certificate and a relatively low gpa (low 3s or high 2s)?
