CPA exam: Should I schedule REG or Financial next?

I have passed AUDIT and have BEC scheduled for July 9th. If I plan to take either FAR or REG at the end of the July-August window, which should I go with. I hear they are planning to change financial, but I purchased REG a few months ago and it expires if I dont take it by December (November since Dec. is dead).

If you can afford to pay the additional fee to sit for REG later, I would save it for next year and take FAR this year. REG is not scheduled to have any new content introduced so getting FAR out of the way will be to your advantage. |

Out of all 4 parts, FAR is by far the most time consuming to study in my opinion. The sheer amount of material trumps any other part. I would schedule to take that during whenever you have the most time to study for it. If you are still in school, definitely take it in August. Studying FAR on top of school will be unbelievably miserable. Otherwise, only you know your schedule. I wouldn't worry about your CPA review expiring. You have a lot of time. If you put in the time and effort, there is no reason you shouldn't pass. Good luck! |
